Self-love: the season is now
The thing I love most about winter is the chance to rest and reflect and make time for more me-time. It’s a quieter kind of season—one that invites us inward. And beyond the hearts and roses, February is about self-love, compassion, and acknowledging the beauty that already lives within you. Not the filtered, perfected version of you—but the real one. The person who has lived, loved, learned, and grown.
One of the most powerful forms of self-care is allowing yourself to be seen. Truly seen. Having intimate portraits taken—whether they’re soft and soulful, bold and confident, or quietly radiant—is an act of self-honor. These portraits aren’t about vanity. They’re about visibility. About saying, I matter enough to take up space. I am worthy of being celebrated.
Whether you choose intimate portraits for yourself or as a gift for someone you love, the experience becomes a mirror—reflecting back your strength, resilience, and beauty. It’s a pause in the noise of life where you get to reconnect with who you are now, not who you used to be or who you think you should be.
This same intention lives at the heart of my 40 Over 40 Portrait Series. It’s a celebration of women who have earned every line of wisdom, every laugh, every scar, and every triumph. It’s about rewriting the narrative that says beauty has an expiration date—and replacing it with one that honors confidence, depth, and self-acceptance.
This winter, let self-love be more than a concept. Let it be an action. Step in front of the camera. Do something just for you. Make yourself the priority you’ve so freely given to everyone else.
You are not too late. You are right on time.
